IF YOU HAVE A LEGAL COPY OF XP THE WINDOWS HAS A BETA VERSION OF SPYWARE THE LET YOU DOWNLOAD AND USE FOR FREE. SO FAR IT'S BEEN A PRETTY GOOD PROGRAM TO USE, YOU CAN BLOCK POP UPS, IT'S CHECKING FOR SECURITY THREATS, SPYWARE ETC.
I ALSO ADAWARE, IT DOES A GOOD JOB OTHER THEN IT WONT LET YOU CONFIGURE ALL THE GOODIES IT HAS. I HAVE THE FREE VERSION AND WILL BUY THE NEXT UPGRADE VERSION OF ADAWARE.
WHEN YOU RUN ADAWARE IT PICKS UP SPYWARE IN A PLACE CALLED ALTERNATE DATA STREAM, FOR SOME REASON I GET A TON OR TRACKING COOKIES IN THIS ARE AND I CANT DELETE THEM.
THIS IS A HP COMPUTER AND THEY LOADED A SPYWARE PROGRSM CALLED SPUSUBTRACT. ITS KIND LIKE ADAWARE AND IT DOES AOK BUT LIKE ADAWARE IF YOU WANT ALL THE GOODIES TO WORK THEN YOU NEED TO BUY THE PROGRAM.
I GUESS I NEED TO PUT OUT THE CASH AND BY EITHER OF THESE PROGRAMS.

WINDOWS DEFENDER IS AOK ALSO.
