Have an Erson solid roller in a blown 383sbc
cam card says .026 "lash for intake and exhaust
Engine guy says .024"
and several racer friends say .018"intake /.020" exhaust
I know that less lash is more lift but how less is too little

First off, welcome. I always stick to what the cam manufacturer suggests for lash. If you would like to try something different, I would run the car at the cams specs and then close up the lash .05 and make a pass. If it doesn't pick up, I would go back to what they recommend. Hope this helps... |
