Well after 16 hours of labor (two and a half of which were spent pushing)
the doctor said the babies position and the size of her head were not going to allow for a normal delivery. So off to the OR we went for a C-section. At 7:19 AM on 7/23/07 baby Abrielle Kay Fountain was born and we quickly discovered why she was being so difficult. She weighed in at a whopping 9lbs 1oz and was 22 inches long with lots of red hair. Mother and baby are doing well but because of the c-section we probably won't go home until Thursday. The motorplex was kind enough to put her picture up so you can see her here

Even this early in life she has let us know how she wants to do things, even if its not what needs to happen. She sucks her tounge which is making it near impossible to get her to start breastfeeding. We are going to stick around an extra day and take advantage of the great staff here at sparrow hospital to see if we can get her to cooperate. We will be at the hospital probably until Friday. Wish us luck
