Other than helping with my Van, I haven't did any body work for 10 yrs.
My dad said he wanted his Model A Painted for Christmas. Well, It didn't just need Painted. It's a fiberglass replica and I spent all last week doing fiberglass repairs and block sanding till my hands were bleeding. Should be pretty sweet when its done though, going to be a little brighter Yellow when I'm through. Colleen, I'll send you some pictures when I'm done. I'm thinking a nice drawing will make a good Fathers Day Gift. (easier on my hands also) |

Yes i know body work suck's but for 10,000 i will give it a shot. I have done smaller stuff so i should be ok. Plus if it look's like crap i'll just do it againe till it look's good. |

Check around on Paint prices.. I went to the shop where I use to buy all of my paint (PPG) and I about fell over. They wanted $700.00 with the primer. That was 2qts of Yellow and 1qt of Black BC/CC and 1 gal Clear. I told him there was no way, I'd get it ready then take it to Maaco. I stopped at another shop that is paint only, (PPG) and got everything for $250.00 - Primer. plus I bought an ounce of copper pearl while I was there. (May sneek some light ghost flames on when noone is looking |

I had a guy come over and look at my van to get it repainted. He told me he would give me a deal.... $4500.00 to start. He had some good Ideas (suicide doors on front, gullwing on the side and back) but I would have probably been in the $10,000.00 range till he was done. So I guess, when I get the Model A done, I'll start on the Van meself. I still want to do Hugger Orange with White Hugger Stipes. |
