Who is going? The host hotel is kind of far from the track...about 30 miles and possible bad traffic. Considering that this is going to be a crowded event there will more then likely be a line to get into the track in the morning. Sat and Sunday need to be ready to roll at 9am. So I am trying to set up something a lot closer. I live about 35 miles from the track and I am seriously considering staying at a hotel. I am trying to work out a deal with Harrahs Casino which is right by the track and the hotel is supposed to be really nice. The only issue with this is that they do not allow anyone under the age of 21 to stay there.... bummer for me. So I was looking into trying to set up a block of rooms somewhere closer... If this is something that you would be interested in please let me know.

There is a big Holiday Inn at 191st & Harlem, in Tinley Park, this hotel is about 25 min from the track, you will pass it as you go west down I-80, that is the best I would suggest, or try the casino's in Joliet, they are real close too

See that is where my issue is... if I am going to drive 25 minutes I will just drive home. What are you and Marie doing? We were working on setting up something at the casiono but I need to know how many people and what nights to get a decent rate... the problem with me for the casino is that you have to be 21 to stay there. So that is not an option for me.

With all the money Marie spends at Harrah's, I should have my own frigg'in suite!!!!!....LOL!

There are a few nice places to eat near the Holiday Inn also, and just a few in downtown Joliet, how ever the cassino's are stingy on the weekends with there rooms,....so book EARLY!....and they are about 10 min closer to the track

Ok... so I am not going to bother with setting up a bl;ock of rooms somewhere. Just so you know Kev the Holiday Inn is not the closest. There are plenty of hotels along 80 and 55 in Bolingbrook. Also I was trying to get some rooms at the casino for a reduced rete. So good luck guys. Looks like I might just make the 30 min drive home each night.
