Then I can start on the van.
I have been working on this truck most of the winter.

Image

It is a second tanker for the Fire Dept. that I am a member.
We started with a used cab and chassis from a former Miami, Fla. Ladder truck.
We shortened the wheel base by 8 ft.
We cut 12 ft off of the back of the frame.
We purchased the apparatus body and installed it.
The only part we didn't do ourselves is the tank, which we had built and installed. 3500 gals.
I have been wiring all of the warning lights, electric actuated dump valves on both sides and on the rear. Also all of the D.O.T. lighting, radios, sirens, etc. All that is left is tieing up some wiring underneath and mounting the control boxes for the lights and sirens.
It should go on its first run to fill the tank this weekend.
I'll look up some early pics of the chassis when we first got it, What a difference.

Then I can get started on my van. (guess what Colleen, I think I'm going to have it painted. Are you ready to do me another drawing????)

Well its got an 8v92 with an Allison so it shouldn't be to bad empty.
But add 28,000 of weight and it will probably be a different story.

I don't think so, especially if you set the differential lock.

It has the 60,000# rear suspension, so ACAP (as close as posible).
I guess Thompson.
