Well, it looks like my racing career for 2004 has been cut short with not one trip down the strip yet!!
While away on vacation (actually the day we arrived in Florida) got a call from my mom telling me that my other Grandma passed away. That's two Grandmothers in two months...The funeral is this Saturday so is the OSCA race....Family always comes first....racing will wait...but then...
The next OSCA race is scheduled on October 2 which is a friend's wedding which I could not miss as he is also a CPD Race Team Member.
Wow, the thrill of the 1/4 mile is just too much for me...
You know what they say, better luck next year....
Come on Snow!!!

Thanks for your thoughts and kind words...
Family and friends always come first...no matter what.
I guess what really sucks is that this was to be my first season.
Due to difficulties with my car at the beginning of the season and then the organizing and running of the CFSC and our magazine schedule, I have not been able to race the car YET!!
I am so bummed out about it.
Next year it is....
New tranny, all difficulties worked out and some early season time trial sessions and I will be ready to rock!
Maybe I can still enjoy the car on the street a bit with the top down before the bad weather comes...short of that, it's into the garage for a long winter's nap with her.
Right now there is a motorhome in the way and I cannot get it out of the garage anyway.
We'll have to change that though...the weather for this weekend looks very promising.
I wonder how many 1/4 mile clear roadway's are on the way to the wedding? Hmmm, I will have to check out the route....

Okay then....ya lost me with that, but....
Yes, a better start next season.
Hi Monty.....
I have not received an email from you lately, keyboard out of batteries?
I will send you some....
I have not emailed as I figured you would be too busy with the other stuff that was keeping you away from racing and the bboards.
Hope you all had a nice long weekend.
Our vacation was way too short and in the wrong place at the wrong time.
A word of caution to all Disney goers.....every Disney ride or attraction comes out at the back of a Disney STORE.....you have to walk through the store to get out of the ride exit. If you are planning on going, wear blinders or don't bring kids cause you won't make it out alive.
Also, Myrtle Beach is not all it is cracked up to be.....
More mosquitos than the Canadian North and more ants than I care to count. Not normal ants that build ant hills either, red fire ants that bit and leave blisters from their venom after they bite you.
They will infest your tent, rv or motorhome....bring lots of bug repellent and put ant powder around your rv wheels and....don't park under a tree...they will enter that way as well.
PS..also do not visit Florida or Myrtle Beach in August or September....damn hot....in Florida we had 100 degree weather with 80% humidity. In Myrtle Beach we were evacuated from our campground due to a hurricane.
I think we will stay in Canada next year and bear with the 72 degree 10% humidity weather out west.
In short, we had an okay time, the kids had a great time and we came home with no cash!

Cailin...you could not be more correct.
We arrived at the Disney Campground only to get a call from my mom about my Grandma....we drank all night and toasted my Grandma's long life...she was 99.
I was bombed.
We arrived in Myrtle Beach set up and were then evacuated for 1.5 days.
Came back to the park, i got second degree sunburn on my back the first day at the beach.
On the third day we were infested with ants and had to spend a day emptying out, fumigating and restocking the motorhome.
The fourth day we went to Myrtle Beach which is nothing more than another Niagara Falls....different stores all selling the exact same stuff for miles.
We did find an amazing mini golf place that we went to. My four year old got a hole in one on the 5th hole and beat me in points on the mini golf course.
Our propane on the motorhome stopped working for no known reason.
It was an emotional roller coaster....the beer was cheap though which made it easier to take.

 Trish sorry to hear about your Grandma.
Isn't Florida great ! What about the little lizards all around.
My experience has been it's nice the day i get there and nice the day i leave. The weather is to up and down. I was wondering why you were going in the summer months its so humid this time year. I can say the one good thing about Fl is this awesome raw bar called Dirty Moe's it's the best. Chicken Wings, Rock Shrimp, and Marlin dip, fabulous!!! ( i think i better eat breakfast)I would go just to eat there and come back. You almost have to go to South America to get good weather in cold months. Better luck next time!
