Going to buy a weather station this weekend and upgrade from my put together system......any ideas? I have done alot of research and all seem to have their pros & cons. I have about $400 to spend. Help.

Yes a weather station. To help tune the cars we race. A weather station can help in tuning. If we know what the air is at each track this is an aid for us. It calculates elevation, humitity, and other stuff and ??? This is a quick overview of what a weather station does!!! Jim, I did see you posted on other boards. If you do happen to get a reply else where, please post here when ya get a chance. I am also interested in this subject. Thanks, Kevin

You're right there in the price range, the entry levels are around 350.00. and after that the sky is the limit. Many are there to choose from too.

Thanks 4mula,
I have seen the Alta system many times at local bracket races, my friend uses the Barry Grant system with calculator. I really like the new Eliminator Practice tree with weather station all in one unit. Not sure I need the paging system, since I will be running an index. No need to change dial in staging lanes.

Seems as though you really can't get exactly what you want with most of the models out there, there's always something there you really have no use for. If you have a laptop handy at the track with you, some of the others are fairly good for just getting the info and you provide the resources.

I use a Preform AIRE II and works pretty good if I carry a spare case of 9 volt batteries...

If I was to buy another one I would get it from Computech. I got my data logger from them and they have always been helpful with information. Most units are in the $430 range... A few picks are listed below

Computech listed @ $449.95 on their site and is $459.99 from Jegs
http://www.computechsys.com/drsystem.html

TAG seems to be the standard that people use. They are listed in Jegs for $429.99

Perform AIRE II is listed in Jegs for $429.99

Hope this helps....

I ended up talking to the guys at Computech and bought the #3000 RaceAir Weather Analyzer. $349.95 later and I am all set. It seemed like the best bang for the buck and has everything I need. Before Belle Rose I am also going to but their PC software for $79.95. Thanks again Monty.

When I looked at that I wasn't sure if you were also going to go extra for the software. seems like a good comparable deal !!
