Post subject:  APA Pool League
So wish me good luck. My Grand Rapids Pool Team is competing in the Inner City Vegas Cup Eight Ball Tournament in Grand Rapids. It starts tonight and continues through Sunday. It's a huge tournament, the winning team gets to go to Vegas for the Nationals in August, plane and hotel will be paid for. The 2nd place team gets to go to the State of Michigan Finals in Muskegon in November.

The Nine Ball Tournament is next weekend and my Grand Rapids team missed being qualified by one lousy point :twisted:

The weekend after that wish my Saranac team luck as we will be again competing in the Outer City Vegas Cup Eight Ball Tournament in Grand Rapids. This is the one we won last year and went to the Vegas Nationals.
We sure would like to go again and my team peaked in performance about 2 weeks ago, which is perfect timing :mrgreen:
Fall session we won the championship and spring session ended last week and we finished second, so we're ready!!

Well we are hoping to do it again. The team that we beat in the finals to go to Vegas last year said his team went in 1987 and he's been trying EVERY year since :shock:

I won't go into detail, but we lost first round, so we are on the losers side now :roll:
Let's just say some of the team didn't seem to take it too serious, I'll be looking for a new team next season for sure.

What a come back, we won 5 matches after that. We were finally beaten at 3am this morning. I believe we finished 9th out of 64, not to shabby. In APA Pool, you have to "mark" your pocket when shooting at the eight ball, it's in the rules and you do it all year long.........our captain forgot to do so and the other team caled him on it, thus we lost :shock: Not good.

Boy am I drained today. 18.5 hours straight of playing pool kicked my ass. I sure am glad I'm not into drinking alcohol like some of my team members :shock:

Yeup. We started at 8am and finished at 2:30am. We did have a 3 hour break in between the first game and the second game, but guess what, I practiced for 2 hours of it :lol:
The last match was our longest. We had to play all 5 players and each ended up going to the hill (last game where each player only needs one game to win the match-up) We started that one at 11pm and finished at 2:30pm (32 total games in that period of time) :shock:

Last session I was also on one other APA team. I knew work was going to slow down big time, so I had to quit the team as I just couln't afford it.


That team won the tournament and is going to Vegas !!!!
Boy I messed that one up :cry:
But I did help them get qualified which makes me feel good. :D
