Post subject:  Ebay buyers...

I'm thinking of buying something on Ebay. I have bought before but only the buy it now buys. I am thinking of bidding on something and looking for advice. The auction is for two items of what I am looking for. The items if bought normaly would cost $50 each. So it would be $100 for Two. The current bid is US $0.99 with no bids and 2d 14h 23m left. Any thoughts on how to proceed???

I have done a lot of ebay transactions, but only one for multiple items.

When I did mine there were two items and I was able to buy only one of those (I only wanted one, btw).

I normally wait to put my bid in until the last seconds so that I don't "tip my hand". You could do that manually, or use a "snipe" program like esnipe.com.

Pick what you think your highest price is and go for it!

If I wouldn't be that upset if I missed getting it , what would you guys try for a price??? %50 of what you could normally get it for???

Hard to tell Kevin. I've seen things go for 10% of the value. And I've seen things go for 250% . It all depends on who's watching it. And what they are willing to pay.

Good point Jim. I bought an item from a guy who nailed me for shipping. Triple what it cost him according to the FedEx web site.

Ebay charges its fees based on final value of the item. When sellers charge more for shipping ,yet the item sells for alittle less. they still make more money. not much in one transaction. But for big sellers it can make a difference.

I sold some old Hotwheels a year ago. made the mistake of saying they only had to pay shipping on one item. Same damn guy bought them all. I didn't make anything off of shipping.... :x

I always bump the shipping calculator by a pound or two to cover the price of boxes, tape , packing materials , gas etc. etc.
