In my house the usage for gas is a lot less in the summer than it is in the winter. Instead of filling your tank every other month you won't be filling it untlil fall probably????

You are correct, It is half full right now and it will be filled in the fall at the new price, which is way more than last years price :evil:
Usually it only goes up about 10 cents until this year.

Nursing is a great and noble profession and will probably always be in
demand so an RN should always have job opportunities. Effort vs. reward
is the issue to be considered. In this state a nurse needs a minimum of a
BS degree and many have advanced degrees. My wife is a nurse and she
has a masters in nursing management. Until she got masters she worked
swing shifts, always worked more then eight hours and always complained
about lack of respect and poor pay. The masters got her out of the swing
shifts, that's all.

Here is the problem with service positions (such as nursing, teachers,
police, etc.). They don't bring in revenue and are therefore considered a
necessary evil by management. In the medical profession doctors are
highly paid (they bring in patients/revenue) and nurses are poorly paid, in
comparison, because they are a financial liability to the medical industry
(make no mistake, medicine is an industry, not a service).

Anyone(regardless of education level) who is in an industry that is in
trouble today would do him/herself well to learn to sell (not Amway or any
of those pyramid schemes). Professional (or corporate) sales can be very
lucrative and provide for a family very well. The short story is this. If
your work bring revenue to your company you will be rewarded
appropriately. The more revenue you bring in the better you will be
rewarded.

Of course!! All of this is contrary to everything Hillary and Obama will tell
you. :wink:

Nursing, :lol: :lol: :lol: Now that's funny as hell, I personally know about 6 people that are getting out of nursing do to poor pay.

I've done a few mortgages for nurses. Maybe 5-7 nurses over the years. These have been RNs with 2 year RN from local community colleges or 4 year RNs. All made over 50K on W2s for the past 2 years.

Teacher aint a bad gig either. Summers off. Avg salary in Michigan is 58K. I think Royal Oak here average is 75K.

Teachers in Saranac start at 24K and end at 42K. I personally know the oldest teacher, she's been there for 35 yrs and makes 42,500 she told me, which is close to what is public record. Maybe they'll get an increase with the bomb threat 2 weeks ago.

Can't the cost of living is tooooooo high.
I just talked to one of my best friends and she is an RN. Your quote on the dollar figures are accurate on the east side of the state as the cost of living over there is about 18% higher than over here right now. She also mentioned that all the new people getting into this field will never see this kind of pay as only the "good ole boys" are still recieving good pay anymore, it's slowly turning over as the market is filled with people who can do a good job for less and the minority population has grown 400% in the past 5 years in West Michigan.
