We used to do that when I worked at the Desert Proving Ground. Williams Air Force Base (ie, "Willie Field") was right across the road, so anytime there were any special festivities over there we would climb up on the roof of the garage and watch the show. Blue Angels, Air Races, all kinds of cool stuff.

We used to look up and say "...look at those clowns. All they do is fly around all day".

Turns out they would look down and say the same thing about us: "...look at those clowns. All they do is drive around all day".
