well, if you ask me there is more to car ownership than just "quality" (& how its defined). I do my own maintenance & I have to say that its pretty simple on most of my cars & its an important issue to me.
economy (MPG), resale value & Comfort are VERY important to me & it does not seem to me that the Domestic cars can hold a candle to the Honda's & Toyota's.
ALL of the mfgs need to step up to the plate & move forward with both desiel technology (which some are now) & with WBO2's & better economy out of gas motors. Honda has skated around it for quite a few years now & are doing pretty well with it as has VW. but I know a guy in Ohio that has a 87 GN that can get 40 MPG out of his FULL weight GN & then goto the track, & rip out a low 11. & this is with an almost 20 year old ECM. WTF is wrong with this picture???????
there is also the issue of all the american jobs going "overseas" how is it that Toyota can build trucks in Texas & Dodge has to build them in Mexico???? that is SOOOOOOOOOOO Ph'ing wrong. My Honda was "built" in Ohio, my Grand Prix was built in Canada..............

I wont get up on my soapbox about this, but Corporate greed has me SOOO cross I cant stand myself. these clowns are killing the America one company @ a time. when are they going to wake up & realize that this country has GOT to manufacture here. they need to figure out how to make that happen.
so......... if you ask me, I do say that imports are "better" than domestics. But............. I dont know that Im the average joe.
