live or artificial tree ?

Live all the way, there's nothing like taking the entire family out to cut a tree down by hand.

Those memories will never leave you. The first time we went out I took a chainsaw, they about flipped, "you can't use that, insurance reasons", I'm like "how do I cut one then?", so they handed me a hand saw. I thought it would be terrible, but you know what, I wouldn't do it any other way. The kids just love walking around for about an hour to find that one special tree, they get excited about it every year!!

Not to mention the slight fresh smell you get in the house, It really brings on that special Christmas feeling everyone enjoys through the holidays. This weekend is the perfect time of season to do it also. I've always heard there is alot of hassel involved in getting a real tree, but you know what I haven't expierenced any as of the past 8 years or so. The kids sometimes fight over who gets the opportunity to water it daily, but we found a great solution to that problem as each of them splits the needed water in half so they both can enjoy this special task that is so needed. I'm getting chills up my spine just thinking about it. I just love Christmas !!

We usually get a 15-18 footer also, The bigger the better

Jacob's right! The only way to go!

If you want a nice smell put a little vanilla in some water and boil it on the stove. Smells like you've been baking cookies all day (this works well when you have your house on the market too.)

My wife & I bought a fake one about 12 or 13 years ago & 2 years ago I wanted a real one for my kids (who are 8 & 10 now), so they would know what a real one smelled like. but................. the ones that they had all sucked. we got a good looking one, but it did not smell like they used to. I dunno if it was just a bad lot of them or what, but ................... I was really dissapointed. as a kid we only had real tree's & the smell still reminds me of Christmas.

I always had real trees when I was a kid and we would go and cut one down together. But now I just go the easy way out. As Jacob said pre-lit walmart special.
